Generating growth
Our focus is on understanding the unique needs and objectives of our clients and working with them to develop and implement action-based strategies to increase business productivity. While the core elements of our problem solving approach are constant, we use it as a framework for building solutions tailored to the business context and culture of each client situation.

We don’t believe in spending time on long-winded reports or lengthy training sessions. Instead we help senior managers plan and implement projects that solve create desired results. The most direct route to increased individual and organizational capacity is through rapid action and measurable results.

Seven Steps to Sustainable Growth
We work with senior managers using the following 7 step problem solving process.

1. Clarify Objectives
The first challenge is to separate symptoms from problems and to define long and short term objectives. Our goal is to identify a compelling project, one of key importance with a high probability of success.

2. Identify and Involve Stakeholders
The participation of the people who know the most about the situation is vital to solving organizational problems and creating a lasting solution. Identifying and involving those with a stake in either implementation or outcomes is a second step. This can include direct reports, colleagues, members of other departments and customers.

3. Define Barriers
A first step to eliminating barriers is to identify them. Internal barriers to growth can include perceptions (self, colleagues, customers) and management practices (organizational systems, structures and individual behavior). Openly discussing outmoded perceptions and practices is part of the process in removing them.

4. Generate Future-Focused Solutions
In individual coaching we work with managers to collect suggestions from colleagues and customers prior to selecting one or two to act on. With organizations we help structure meetings and projects that leverage the collective hands-on knowledge of those who will be responsible for implementation.

5. Implement Immediately
One key to success is getting immediate approval of proposals and taking action to test out suggested strategies.

6. Measure Results
Whether its collecting feedback on individual behavior change or testing for reduction of quality defects, monthly measurement of success is essential to improving performance.

7. Review and Repeat
Creating individual and organizational success is an ongoing process which requires continual effort. Initial projects should serve as the basis for defining the next set of challenges.

Whether its changing leadership behaviors or developing new ways for workgroups to collaborate, our focus is always on increasing the capacity of our clients and achieving desired results.
